01Introduction
A people’s car, kept like a collector’s car
The 1967 model year is the one enthusiasts look for: the first 1500 engine, 12-volt electrics and the last of the vertical headlamps. This Beetle has spent its entire life in Mexico and wears its period colour with pride.
03History
History
First registered in Puebla in 1967, it remained with its second owner — a retired engineer — for thirty-one years. A folder of receipts follows the car from 1978 to the present day.
04Restoration
Restoration
A sympathetic body-off restoration was completed in 2019: new floor pans in original specification, paint in the factory colour, rebuilt 1500 engine and gearbox, and new wiring loom. The original interior door cards were preserved.
